Bauklötze [toy blocks], 2023
in: Calendar 2025, einBuch.haus 2024
Glad to be invited by einbuch.haus to contribute to an exhibition in form of a calendar, volving round the topic “time”.
Revisiting the house where I spent most of my childhood, I came about a cardboard box with wooden toy blocks I used to play, to build with a lot. Re-discovering them was like a Proustian moment.
It’s a nice coincidence that I’ve been assigned, 2nd in alphabetical order, February, month of my birth, so that fits well with this personal memory. As a small personalisation of the calendar, I asked to mark the 5th of February, my birthday.
The exhibition Calendar 2025 is a homage to the exhibition March 1969 by Seth Siegelaub. Participating artists were invited to present any relevant work regarding the “Time” and their assigned month. Through this project, einBuch.haus aims to connect contemporary artists who use the “book” as their main artistic practice.
The concept development was created together with Claudia de la Torre, starting with the first calendar exhibition Calendar 2023 in 2022.
