Regal-Rei­sen (Meri­an B.C.), 2026, Instal­la­ti­on, Holz­plat­ten beschrif­tet, Tren­ner aus einem Regal mit Rei­se­ma­ga­zi­nen, Buch­stüt­zen; ca. 230 x 90 cm;

Aus einem Regal mit Meri­an-Maga­zi­nen, gesam­melt vom Vater von A.C., sind die mit Län­dern und Kon­ti­nen­ten beschrif­te­ten Trenn­plat­ten her­aus­ge­nom­men und auf den Boden gestellt. Der Abstand der Tren­ner ist bei­be­hal­ten, das Regal so rekon­stru­iert, ohne sei­nen Inhalt — der sich in der Aus­stel­lung im Erd­ge­schoss befin­det, in einer Wand­in­stal­la­ti­on, auf die so ver­wie­sen ist (MERI­AN B.C.).
Die Plat­ten sind mehr­fach beschrif­tet: Der Name “Coers” ist teils auf den Tren­nern auf der Sei­te zu lesen, damit qua­si signiert. B.C. woll­te die Holz­plat­ten so mar­kie­ren, für sich sichern.
Wie die Hef­te, sind auch die Tren­ner teils mehr­fach beschrif­tet: Auf der Rück­sei­te von “USA” ist “Ober­bay­ern rechts d. Isar” zu lesen.
Da es um Namen geht, Orts- und Fami­li­en­na­men, befin­det sich die Instal­la­ti­on im sel­ben Raum wie das Stra­ßen­schild “MANN AV” aus New York, vom Pro­jekt Stra­ßen Namen Leuch­ten – ein Denk­mal für die Fami­lie Mann, 2025

From a shelf con­tai­ning Meri­an maga­zi­nes, coll­ec­ted the father of A.C., the divi­der panels label­led with count­ries and con­ti­nents have been remo­ved and pla­ced on the flo­or. The spa­cing bet­ween the divi­ders has been retai­ned; the shelf has been recon­s­truc­ted in this way, wit­hout its con­tents – which are loca­ted on the ground flo­or of the exhi­bi­ti­on, in a wall instal­la­ti­on to which refe­rence is made (MERI­AN B.C.).

The divi­ders bear mul­ti­ple inscrip­ti­ons: the name ‘Coers’ can be read on some of the divi­ders on the side, effec­tively acting as a signa­tu­re. B.C. wan­ted to mark the woo­den divi­ders in this way, to cla­im them for himself.

Like the maga­zi­nes, the divi­ders are also part­ly inscri­bed in seve­ral places: on the back of ‘USA’ one can read ‘Upper Bava­ria, right of the Isar’.

As the work deals with names – place names and sur­na­mes – the instal­la­ti­on is situa­ted in the same room as the street sign ‘MANN AV’ from New York, from the pro­ject ‘Street Names Shi­ne’ – a memo­ri­al to the Mann fami­ly, 2025
